Wow-time has FLOWN by! So much to blog about, but so little time at the moment! TJ and I are starting to pack for our trip to Kenya. We leave Sept 18th and are back Oct 2. It's been an amazing journey thus far and it has been awesome to see how God is using this trip already to bring Glory to His name! We had a chance to speak in front of our church recently about why we are going and what we will be doing there. It was the first time in a long time that I was overcome with fear about going. TJ and I have been facing a lot of spiritual warfare this past week in a lot of different areas of our lives.
God has given us this scripture in Psalms 27 that says "The LORD is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid? When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confidentOne thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple".
Ironically, this is a scripture that I (Lindsay) had close to my heart the first time I visited Kenya in 2002. It's amazing how God works. TJ and I go this year with great anticipation that God is going to work in our lives in a life-changing way.
We are taking along school supplies, baby clothes, and diapers, so if anyone would like to donate items to take over for the kids there, let us know so we can make room to pack it!
